Job title: Equipment Engineer
About the Role Join Western Digital to own end-to-end management of vacuum sputtering equipment within our manufacturing operations. You will refurbish, install, and commission automated equipment and key components, and lead equipment conversion tasks for product changeovers to keep our production moving at scale.
What You'll Do
- Own full-cycle equipment management for vacuum sputtering systems, including refurbishment, installation, commissioning, and equipment conversions for product changeovers.
- Lead preventive maintenance and optimization activities, including planning and executing annual, quarterly, and monthly inspections; drive design optimization for reliability of key components.
- Use internal AI tools to analyze equipment data and historical records to diagnose and resolve production equipment failures quickly and accurately.
- Maintain standardized operations and site management by strictly adhering to Western Digital's Integrated Management System.
What We're Looking For
- Experience with refurbishment, installation, and commissioning of vacuum sputtering automated equipment in manufacturing environments.
- Experience with equipment conversion tasks for product changeovers and related optimization projects.
- Demonstrated ability to lead preventive maintenance plans and improvement projects to enhance reliability.
- Ability to analyze equipment operational data with AI tools and perform effective troubleshooting.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and adherence to Integrated Management System.
