Job title: Equine Medicine Faculty Position (clinical-track or tenure-track)
About the Role The Long Island University College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a full-time faculty position in equine medicine at the Brookville, NY campus. The role may be filled at Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level on a clinical-track or tenure-track basis, with responsibilities spanning education, research, and service to LIU-CVM and its stakeholders.
What You'll Do
- Provide clinical and didactic teaching in the equine medicine course and equine laboratories. No clinical duty is required, but opportunities may exist with affiliate or self-practice.
- Actively engage in curriculum development, identify or create innovative learning resources, and participate in committee service (admissions, curriculum, research, etc.).
- Lead or contribute to independent or collaborative research in equine veterinary medicine and work toward LIU-CVM's scholarly goals, including collaboration with LIU-CVM partners/affiliate hospitals.
What We're Looking For
- DVM or equivalent degree with expertise in equine medicine.
- Board certification/eligibility by ACVIM LA or equivalent preferred.
- Advanced training in equine medicine and/or equine research; MS or PhD preferred.
- Working knowledge of curricular design and implementation.
- Ability to interact effectively with university administration, the veterinary education community, faculty, students, and alumni.
Nice to Have
- ACVIM LA certification/eligibility (if not already captured above).
- MS or PhD in a related field.
- Experience with distributed clinical education models.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $130,000 - $170,000 per year (USD).
