About the Role The Marquette University Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) College Bound Scholars seeks dynamic, mission-driven part-time instructors to teach enrichment and academic advancement courses to high school students in our pre-college programs. This position runs fall 2026 (Sept 14 – Dec 19, 2026) and supports first-generation, college-bound students in academic preparation, personal development, and college/career readiness. What You'll Do
- Design and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons aligned with assigned subject matter (e.g., STEAM, English, ACT Prep, Foreign Language, etc.).
- Create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom culture that supports student voice, curiosity, and collaboration.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and skill levels of high school students.
- Use culturally responsive teaching strategies to connect learning content with students’ real-life experiences and aspirations.
- Monitor student participation, provide feedback, and track attendance and academic progress as required.
- Communicate regularly with EOP staff regarding student concerns, instructional needs, or program updates.
- Contribute to a dynamic team culture by participating in planning meetings, training sessions, evening events, and occasional Saturday enrichment activities.
- Serve as a positive, enthusiastic mentor and role model, promoting leadership, self-advocacy, and college-going behaviors. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree and prior teaching experience in respective discipline and related experience with student or community groups that address issues affecting low-income and minority populations.
- Precollege positions require a strong interest in interdisciplinary curriculum.
- Master’s Degree preferred. Nice to Have
