• The Position

• An EOF Leader (EL) supports the EOF staff as a member of the team, representing both Ocean County College (OCC) and the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF). ELs guide, inform, and support other EOF students toward their goals. They assist staff and may be required to perform basic office functions as well as assisting with group decorum and function. ELs facilitate at least one team-building/welcome activity.

• A joint OCEAN/STOCKTON conference, EOF leaders should be able to work well with others in a team setting, creating a welcoming, engaging, and inclusive experience for all participants. ELs play an active role in shaping the conference environment, developing meaningful connections between OCC and Stockton EOF communities, and serving as ambassadors for the program. ELs should model professionalism, empathy, and leadership while bringing energy and enthusiasm to the event.

• ELs act in a manner that is becoming of a paraprofessional and role model. This is a high-profile position; termination may be made immediately as warranted for behavior that is detrimental to the EOF community and/or the College.

• ELs must be an alumni of OCC's EOF program.

• What You Will Do

• Participate in EOF Leadership Training

• Develop and facilitate workshops

• Develop evaluations

• Assist EOF staff as requested

• Role model positive, engaged behavior

• Develop and present workshops

• Give direction(s)

• All other duties as assigned

• The Successful Candidate Must Have

• Must be an alumni of OCC's EOF Program

• If currently enrolled at a college/university/institution, must have GPA of 2.0 or higher

• Comfortable with public speaking

• Even Better If You Have

• Attended EOF, EOFPANJ, or OCC Leadership Conferences

• Experience working with diverse communities

• Prior related work experience

Ocean County College offers the following benefits to temporary or on-call as needed employees:

• Time Off: OCC follows the NJ Sick Leave Law, providing one hour of sick leave per every thirty hours worked. A maximum of forty hours may be accrued.
