About this role
About the Role Environmental Health & Safety Technician will support regulatory compliance for OSHA, TCEQ, RCRA, EPA, and DOT at SpaceX manufacturing facilities in Starbase and Brownsville. You will work with engineers and technicians to ensure the site operates safely while meeting manufacturing goals. What You'll Do
- Perform boots-on-the-ground safety oversight by identifying and correcting hazards and unsafe conditions
- Monitor employee exposure to job and chemical hazards per OSHA PELs
- Assist in implementing and complying with site-specific safety policies
- Help create job hazard analyses and PPE assessments
- Conduct department safety surveys and ensure safe work practices (PPE, trip hazards, fall protection)
- Ensure notification and corrective actions for unsafe conditions
- Assist EHS engineers in accident/mishap investigations when necessary
- Handle RCRA hazardous waste storage, handling, labeling, and disposal; manage satellite accumulation areas
- Maintain accurate waste logs (90-day drums, sign-in sheets, VOC usage)
- Inspect hazardous waste storage areas and assist in waste shipments
- Perform weekly storm water inspections per SWPPP and support spill prevention plans (SPCC)
- Conduct environmental compliance and due diligence audits
- Support emergency response readiness and regulatory compliance initiatives What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience implementing and overseeing environmental, health and safety programs
- Boots-on-the-ground safety oversight experience
- Experience with hazardous waste storage/ satellite accumulation areas
- Ability to multi-task, manage shifting priorities and work with minimal supervision
- Experience in construction/industrial environments
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- ITAR eligibility or ability to obtain required authorizations; relocation possible if not local; ability to lift up to 30 lbs; overtime/weekend availability Nice to Have
- Experience developing health and safety plans and policies
- Experience with emergency response crews for releases to air, soil and water
- Hands-on, detail-oriented mindset
- Prior experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments
