Job title: Environmental, Health & Safety Manager
About the Role The Environmental, Health & Safety role oversees the daily safe, legal, and economical operations of the assigned branch (including transportation, warehouse, and tank farm). It ensures compliance with corporate health, safety, and environmental policies, completes required training and documentation, and supports sales efforts within regulatory standards. The role helps maintain the branch health and safety program, conducts safety audits, and, together with the Branch Operations Manager, carries out incident investigations and communicates root causes with corrective and preventive measures. The position also involves reporting branch performance, costs, productivity opportunities, and industry trends to upper management.
What You'll Do
- Oversee daily safe, lawful, and economical operations of the branch (transportation, warehouse, and tank farm).
- Facilitate compliance with corporate health, safety, and environmental policies; ensure training, documentation, and record-keeping are completed.
- Support sales efforts while maintaining regulatory health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Support branch health and safety program; conduct safety audits with the Branch Operations Manager.
- Assist Branch Operations Manager with incident investigations; communicate root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Provide regular updates to upper management on branch performance, cost, productivity opportunities, and industry trends.
- Supervise staff: conduct pre-shift meetings, set expectations, maintain a supervisory presence, and ensure employees have required tools and training on safety and operating standards.
- May oversee drug testing and medical surveillance as required.
- Perform branch administration tasks: general office work, email communications, and paperwork for hazardous waste generation and waste pickup/transport; participate in inspections by DOT, EPA, FDA, DHS.
- Support sales and customer service: assist with budget and operating plans; meet customer requirements and fulfill orders using risk management and SOPs.
- Coordinate quality assurance with appropriate departments to resolve product quality issues.
- Manage inventory: cycle counts and physical inventory, including quarantined material; supervise daily operations (repack and transportation) in the inventory management system.
- Maintain facility operations and pursue process improvements.
- Perform other related duties as required.

- Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations; experience with DOT, EPA, FDA, DHS inspections.
- Experience conducting safety audits and incident investigations, including root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills; ability to work with multiple departments and report to upper management.
- Experience supporting budget and operating plan development.
- Inventory management experience with inventory systems.
- Knowledge of hazardous waste generation and waste transport documentation.
