Job Description

Environmental Health & Safety Manager Our client is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Manager for their team. This direct-hire role is perfect for a proactive leader with at least five years of safety management experience.

Responsibilities of the Environmental Health & Safety Manager

• Maintain, develop, and implement regulatory, health and safety programs/policies
• Manage site compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, permit requirements, and company policies and procedures
• Utilize computer-based tools to identify site trends and preventative measures to implement and maintain collaboration with employees, supervisors, and managers
• Work with program managers to maintain, implement, and enforce site safety programs, procedures, and regulatory training, addressing at-risk areas and conducting safety audits/inspections
• Lead safety investigations, analyze trends, and collaborate with leadership on prevention measures
• Ensure timely reporting of workers’ compensation claims
• Oversee hazardous waste operations and programs
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain EHS-related records
• Perform additional tasks as assigned

Qualifications of the Environmental Health & Safety Manager

• 5-7 years of safety management experience and at least 5 years in the manufacturing industry
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field preferred
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
• Excellent written/verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Computer proficiency including MS Office Suite and 3-5 years of ERP systems experience (preferably MAPICS)
• Knowledge of OSHA safety legislation, ISO14001 ISO 45001 standards, and EPA regulations
• Experience in safety and environmental training
• HAZWOPER, RCRA, & DOT a plus
