Job title: Environmental Health & Safety Manager
About the Role Georgia-Pacific’s Foodservice Solutions division is seeking qualified professionals to consider for our Environmental Health & Safety Manager role supporting our facility located in Janesville, Wisconsin. The EH&S Leader will build partnerships with front-line leadership and collaborate with business partners to develop and mentor the production team relating to EH&S. The EH&S Leader establishes and optimizes systems and processes to effectively address the facility EH&S risk profile. The EH&S Leader reports directly to the Plant Manager and has a critical role on the facility leadership team.
What You'll Do
- Embrace influential leadership to support the organization while advancing our Principle-Based Management (PBM) culture
- Partners with site leadership to influence all team members to embrace and achieve our Path to Zero Safety Strategy consistent with Koch’s Safety Vision
- Partners with site leadership to ensure facility risk profile is reduced through development and implementation of key objectives, strategies targets and measures
- Responsible for all systems and processes that manage H&S risk at the facility (Compliance standards, compliance standard ownership model, Risk Management System, Hazard Identification and Risks Assessment (HIRA), Safety Improvement Planning, Safety Training, etc.).
- Effectively communicates facility safety vision, strategies, and performance to internal and external stakeholders.
- Foster an environment where employees understand and exercise their decision rights regarding EH&S ensuring the EH&S vision is developed and integrated
- Facilitate EH&S ownership by the line organization through integration of the EH&S Management System
- Drives continuous improvement using tools and activities, including self-assessments and audit processes; incident/near miss investigations; metrics and targets (leading and lagging indicators); and periodic reviews of performance, culture, and talent.
- Coach, mentor and develop members of the leadership team(s)
- Own and effectively manage the injury management and workers compensation process
- Design and deliver EH&S training programs for employees
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to influence front-line leadership and drive a strong safety culture in a manufacturing environment
- Experience aligning teams with Principle-Based Management (PBM) philosophy
- Knowledge of Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA), Risk Management System, compliance standards, and EH&S program ownership
- Ability to develop and implement objectives, strategies, targets and measures to reduce facility risk
- Experience with EH&S management systems, audits/self-assessments, incident/near-miss investigations, and tracking safety metrics (leading and lagging indicators)
- Experience managing injury/claims and workers’ compensation processes
- Strong communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders and ability to integrate EH&S vision across the organization
- Willingness to be onsite and partner with site leadership at the Janesville facility
