About the Role As an Environmental Health and Safety Engineer at Alstom in West Mifflin, PA, you’ll apply EHS expertise to create a safe and healthy environment for our people and contractors during construction and projects, while minimizing environmental impact and protecting assets. What You'll Do
- Support the Site EHS Manager to perform EHS risk assessments and define control measures
- Prepare, implement and maintain emergency plans
- Deliver support and advice to site personnel to prevent injuries and environmental pollution, and to protect plant and equipment
- Respond to violations of regulations and Alstom standards
- Develop, deploy, and maintain local procedures aligned with Alstom standards and ISO 14001/ISO 45001
- Ensure Alstom EHS standards and tools (AZDP, TOPE, Transport Key processes) are deployed at site level
- Conduct EHS legal compliance checks for specific requirements
- Coach employees to carry out work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner
- Lead site EHS training programs, including inductions and toolbox meetings
- Capture, report, investigate and analyze accidents/incidents to implement corrective and preventive actions
- Prepare monthly EHS reports
- Conduct inspections and EHS audits, report discrepancies What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety or Engineering (preferred)
- At least 2 years of professional EHS experience
- Experience in conducting EHS audits and inspections
- Exceptional communication skills Nice to Have
- Health and Safety Certification
- Good knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
- Knowledge of local legal EHS requirements
- Manufacturing, Construction, Rail or Transportation experience Compensation & Benefits
