Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator 3
Location: Houston, Texas (Onsite)
Role Overview
As an Environmental Specialist, you will provide both functional and technical expertise in NEPA processes, as well as water, cultural resource, and natural resource permitting. This role is responsible for managing environmental projects and programs of moderate complexity that require a broad range of specialized knowledge and experience. Your work will ensure regulatory compliance and support large-scale infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain environmental policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.

Interpret federal, state, and local environmental regulations to ensure compliance.

Assess environmental risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and implement corrective actions.

Prepare and manage required environmental and regulatory documentation.

Lead or support environmental project planning activities, including scheduling, cost estimating, and impact assessments.

Prepare and submit complex environmental permit applications, renewals, and variance requests.

Conduct environmental compliance audits and due diligence investigations.

Monitor regulatory developments, including FERC, NEPA, Clean Water Act (CWA), Endangered Species Act (ESA), and National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA).

Coordinate construction-phase environmental compliance requirements.

Build and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies.

Required Qualifications
-
Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Natural Resources, or a related field is required.

Experience: A minimum of four (4) years of environmental experience is required.
Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and general PC skills.

Knowledge of federal and state environmental permitting processes.

Demonstrated experience with FERC and NEPA requirements.

Ability to manage multiple permits across large-scale projects.

Experience developing and integrating permitting schedules into project plans.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for agency coordination and stakeholder engagement.

Ability to lead cross-functional project teams and manage external consultants.
