Environmental Enforcement Officer (Env Enforcement)

Location: City of Ekurhuleni
Remuneration: R 517,488.00 to R 709,860.00 - Basic salary per annum (plus benefits)
Assignment Type: Permanent
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 Certificate
- National Diploma in Environmental Management, Environmental Law, Policing or Natural Sciences
- Valid Driver's licence
- 3 years' Experience in a similar field
Core Responsibilities:
- Undertake environmental enforcement activities on behalf of City of Ekurhuleni (CoE)
- Ensure that enforcement action is taken against environmental transgressors based on the powers and functions of Environmental Management Inspectors
- Ensure that appropriate enforcement tools such as administrative, criminal enforcement and civil enforcement are in place to enforce environmental legislation
- Ensure implementation, integration and continuity of By-Law repository practices, processes and systems
- Ensure the required legal compliance of all Business unit practices
- Contribute to a Customer Service Orientated Culture/approach in the division
- Ensure effective People Management
- Implement Environmental Governance and Risk Management Strategy
- Contribute to strategic Capability and Leadership input into the divisional objectives
- Facilitate effective Financial Management Processes
