Job title: Environmental Coordinator
About the Role The Environmental Coordinator will support ExxonMobil's Baytown Chemical Plant by conducting environmental and regulatory analyses and by developing, maintaining, and enhancing compliance systems. The role ensures compliance with internal and external reporting requirements and stays up to date with assigned regulations, collaborating with Advocacy and Compliance staff to inform reasonable rulemaking and interpretations. This position is based in Baytown, TX.
What You'll Do
- Provide environmental compliance support to Baytown Chemical Plant operations, including analysis of environmental regulations and applicability determinations
- Review physical and operational changes to ensure compliance with assigned regulations, leveraging existing best practices or implementing new ones
- Complete internal and external reporting obligations for assigned reports/requirements
- Support compliance assurance processes for assigned programs (e.g., Air Emissions Inventory, Title V, NSPS, GHG, TRI, SPCC, Spill Reporting), including Regulatory Analysis, Interpretations and Guidance, and Compliance Support Tools (checklists, workshops, manuals, databases)
- Manage agency enforcement actions as necessary using available SSHE and Law resources
- Coordinate internal Corporate Environmental Reporting
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical or Environmental preferred)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong detail orientation
- Strong business ethics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Minimum 3 years’ experience supporting Oil and Gas Upstream and Unconventional Assets
- Demonstrated knowledge of emissions calculations and methodology
- Demonstrated knowledge of Federal & State of Texas environmental regulations
- Demonstrated knowledge of Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and other EPA and Texas programs (e.g. Air Emissions Inventory, Title V, NSPS, GHG, TRI, SPCC, Spill Reporting)
- Demonstrated knowledge of SAP, PowerBI, or other business productivity tools
