About the Role The Entry Software Engineer at Xylem is responsible for assisting in the design and development of software processes supporting manufacturing chemicals and related products. You will work under the guidance of experienced engineers, conduct research, analyze data, and contribute to optimization of production processes.
What You'll Do
- Design and architect components for software solutions in a manufacturing context.
- Develop Windows applications using C#/.NET in a team environment with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Build desktop applications using UWP and WPF.
- Use Entity Framework or similar ORM; work with SQL Server or similar relational databases.
- Apply design patterns and dependency injection; follow SOLID principles.
- Perform unit testing and ensure code quality.
- Ensure the quality of releases, including participating in peer code reviews.
- Integrate internal software with third-party applications and support existing software.
- Participate in CI/CD activities using tools such as GIT, Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins.
- Communicate effectively and stay detail-oriented and organized.
- Contribute to activity with a minimum professional and educational background as specified.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in C# application development (WPF/UWP) and User Interface creation (HTML/CSS/JS/MS Blazor).
- Experience developing desktop applications in large-scale, high-performance environments.
- Proficiency with UWP/WPF, and Entity Framework or similar ORM; strong SQL Server experience.
- Understanding of design patterns and dependency injection; strong unit testing skills.
- Knowledge of SOLID principles; detail-oriented and organized.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Minimum education: BS in Computer Science or BE/B.Tech in Computer Science/Electronics & Communication or related fields, or Master in Science in Software or MCA, with 3+ years of C# application development experience.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Git, Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins).
Nice to Have
- MAUI experience.
- ASP.NET MVC/Web API knowledge.
