About this role
About the Role Volt is seeking an Entry Level Test Engineer in San Diego, CA to perform software testing of devices and systems used in gas turbines, power generators, natural gas compressors, and methane emissions reduction systems. Primary deliverables include ladder logic control software for programmable logic controllers (PLCs). This is a full-time, temporary-to-hire, on-site role with a Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm schedule.
What You'll Do
- Perform software testing of devices and systems for gas turbines, power generators, natural gas compressors, and methane emissions reduction systems.
- Develop and verify ladder logic control software for programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Collaborate on-site at the San Diego facility and support scheduling needs.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering with GPA 2.8 or higher.
- Educational and/or experience-based exposure to electrical equipment design and control software for PLC applications (preferred but not required).
- Direct experience with programming PLCs and Windows-based Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of turbomachinery electrical loop schematics, P&IDs, and control systems is highly desired.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $32.00 per hour, DOE. The pay range offered will be based on education, work experience, location, duties, certifications, etc.
