Staff Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Entry-Level Staff Accountant to join our client's team in Antioch, CA on a contract to hire basis. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career accounting professional who is eager to build hands-on experience supporting day-to-day accounting operations, reconciliations, and month-end processes in a fast-paced environment. Must be knowledgeable in month-end close, accountant reconciliation and financial statements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and review accounts payable invoices for accuracy and proper coding

• Perform account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures

• Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation

• Reconcile cash receipts and deposits received from multiple clinic locations

• Monitor vendor statements and assist with resolving discrepancies

• Maintain accurate records of fixed assets and prepaid expenses

• Support new vendor setup and maintain vendor files

• Assist with financial reporting and audit requests

• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and internal controls

• Collaborate with clinic managers and corporate departments to resolve accounting issues

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

• Internship experience or up to 1 year of accounting experience preferred

• Basic understanding of general accounting principles and account reconciliation processes

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

• Proficient written and verbal communication skills

• Experience with PeopleSoft and QuickBooks preferred

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with accounts payable, journal entries, reconciliations, and close support
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating across departments
• Exposure to financial reporting and audit support is a plus
