About the Role
Entry Level Arc Welder at Alstom supports rail vehicle manufacturing by performing secondary structure welding operations, learning to operate multiple welding processes, and ensuring safety and quality in a manufacturing environment. What You'll Do

Execute secondary structure welding operations for rail vehicle manufacturing.

Learn to operate all welding machines including GMAW, GTAW and Resistance Spot Welders.

Read blueprints or work instructions, set up jigs and fixtures, comprehend welding symbols and welding sequence.

Safely use a variety of hand and power tools; maintain a clean, safe working environment in line with Alstom Zero Deviation Procedures and EHS guidelines.

Learn to weld different materials (e.g., carbon steel, stainless steel) and pass applicable welder evaluation entry-level tests.

Communicate effectively with supervision, Level A welders, Engineering and Quality departments to discuss design or material changes.

Adapt to different work assignments and assist in new process development and troubleshooting.

Utilize digital technology in day-to-day responsibilities.

Ability to obtain or hold external AWS/ANST or equivalent certifications.

Inspect arc or spot weldments to acceptance criteria and perform dimensional measurements to ensure conformance with specifications.

Maintain hand/eye coordination and pass visual acuity tests.

Additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor/manager. What We're Looking For

Education: High School Diploma, 2 year vocational degree or equivalent welding certificate with experience.

Experience: Less than 2 years.
