We are seeking an experienced English to Chuukese interpreter for a remote, freelance interpreter project. The role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of interpretation assignments, ensuring accurate and culturally sensitive real-time interpretation between English and Chuukese in both spoken and written forms.
Job Description
- Provide real-time interpretation from English to Chuukese and vice versa in meetings, phone calls, video conferences, or events.
- Ensure accurate and culturally appropriate interpretation, maintaining the integrity of the source message.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism during all interpreting sessions.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to meet deadlines and client expectations.
- Assist in both formal and informal interpretation settings, adapting to the needs of the project.
Requirements
- Native Chuukese speaker with proficiency in English.
- Proven experience as an interpreter, with at least 3-5 years of professional experience.
- Strong understanding of both English and Chuukese languages and cultures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to facilitate smooth communication between speakers.
- Reliable internet connection for remote work, with access to video and audio platforms for virtual interpretation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
