We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: English Language Teacher

Location: Edem Idim Ishiet Community, Onna LGA - Akwa Ibom

Employment Type: Full-time

Job Purpose

• We are seeking qualified, passionate, dedicated and enthusiastic teachers to join our academic team and contribute to nurturing students' intellectual abilities, moral values and personal development.
• The successful candidates will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing students' academic progress and creating a positive learning environment that promotes academic excellence, discipline, creativity and critical thinking.
• Candidates must demonstrate strong subject knowledge, effective communication skills and a genuine passion for teaching and inspiring young minds.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English Language lessons in line with the approved curriculum.
• Teach grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, essay writing, oral English and phonetics.
• Develop students' reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.
• Improve students' communication, spelling, pronunciation and creative writing abilities.
• Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, assignments, tests and examination questions.
• Assess students' language proficiency and provide constructive feedback.
• Prepare students for internal and external examinations.
• Encourage reading habits, effective communication and proper use of the English language.
• Maintain classroom discipline and accurate academic records.

General Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be expected to:

• Maintain high standards of teaching and professional conduct.
• Create a safe, supportive and engaging classroom environment.
• Promote discipline, integrity, respect and good moral values among students.
• Participate in staff meetings, school events and extracurricular activities.
• Maintain effective communication with parents, colleagues and school management.
• Monitor students' academic and personal development.
• Comply with school policies, procedures and academic standards.
• Perform other reasonable academic duties assigned by the school management.

Qualifications and Requirements

Interested candidates should possess the following:

• Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc. / B.Ed. / B.A.) or HND in a relevant discipline.
• A teaching qualification or professional teaching certification (TRCN) will be an added advantage.
• Previous teaching experience is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of the relevant subject area.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• Ability to prepare lesson plans and deliver effective lessons.
• Good interpersonal skills, patience and a passion for working with children.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Commitment to students' academic success and personal development.
