About the Role Volt is immediately hiring an Engineering Technician in Greensboro, North Carolina for a U.S.-based semiconductor company that designs, manufactures, and supplies RF systems and solutions. The role focuses on de-processing and imaging/measurement of mobile phone RF front end modules; this is 100% on-site and hands-on in a laboratory environment. What You'll Do
- Process, image and analyze modules and sub-components using microscopy, polishing, and chemical techniques
- Prepare samples for scanning electron microscopes and X-Ray equipment
- Strictly follow administrative processes and data entry for material and job tracking
- Prepare and present summary reports from lab data
- Follow safe laboratory procedures and maintain consumables
- Interact with internal customers at all levels of the organization What We're Looking For
- Basic electronics knowledge and familiarity with highly integrated electronic module assembly
- Hand soldering modules using a microscope, tweezers, soldering irons, or hot air reflow stations
- Imaging using an imaging microscope; measuring with an imaging microscope and software tools
- Ability to extract and handle microscopic die (down to ~0.25 mm square)
- Some familiarity with CNC milling
- Meticulous and detail-oriented; organized, patient and disciplined; coachable with a professional demeanor
- Entry-level to 2 years' experience in an engineering lab; HS or 2-year technical/military or equivalent
- Experience with RF front ends, RF probe stations, network analyzers, and S-parameter data is a plus Nice to Have
- Additional experience: chemical decapsulation under PPE (fume hood) and handling acids
- Cross-sectioning and de-layering using polishing wheels; precision polishing of Si/GaAs dies and substrates
- Sample preparation for testing that does not impact electrical performance Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: $30-$31 per hour
