About the Role
Join Databricks' Apache Spark Structured Streaming team as an Engineering Manager focused on streaming. You will lead and shape the development of streaming engine features across OSS and the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform to deliver state-of-the-art performance and reliability.
What You'll Do
- Lead a talented engineering team in Apache Spark Structured Streaming, developing and promoting the engine in OSS and the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform.
- Oversee sustained recruitment of top-tier talent and upskill the team.
- Implement robust processes to efficiently execute product vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with organizational goals.
- Build software that is high quality and easy to operate, and drive Stream Processing adoption across the Databricks product portfolio.
- Manage technical debt, including long-term architecture decisions and balancing the roadmap.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years experience in related systems, streaming, query processing/optimization, including big-data ecosystem, Apache Spark or database internals.
- A passion for database/storage/distributed systems, language design, or performance optimization.
- Ability to ensure the team builds high-quality, reliable infrastructure services; experience with testing, quality, and SLAs.
- Previous experience building and leading teams in complex technical domains such as distributed data systems or database internals.
- Ability to attract, hire, and coach engineers who meet Databricks standards; ability to up-level teams by hiring senior talent and growing leaders.
- Experience managing distributed teams preferred.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with product management and directly with customers; ability to deeply understand product and customer personas.

Compensation & Benefits
- Local Pay Range: USD 181,000—253,750 per year.
- The total compensation package may include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the listed benefits.
