Job title: Engineering Manager - Public Cloud, Python, Golang
Canonical is seeking an Engineering Manager for Public Cloud with expertise in Python and Golang. This role is home based in the EMEA region and will help drive architectural direction, delivery, and collaboration within Canonical's Ubuntu-based cloud initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Provide technical leadership and people management for Public Cloud initiatives.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and security teams to shape architecture and roadmap.
- Mentor engineers, promote best practices, and recruit talent where needed.
- Drive delivery, quality, and reliability of cloud platforms in a remote/EMEA environment.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience leading engineering teams in cloud-focused environments.
- Strong expertise in Python and Go (Golang).
- Experience with distributed systems, container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), and cloud platforms.
- Excellent communication and remote collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote/EMEA-based setup.
Nice to Have
- Experience with the Canonical/Ubuntu ecosystem and open source contributions.
- Familiarity with public cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation, and IoT domains.
