Job title: Engineering Manager (m/w/d)
About the Role This key position provides guidance and direction to Kerry’s engineering department. The Engineering Manager oversees the engineering budget, site capital planning, capital project identification, process optimisation, energy management, and maintenance delivery on site. The role also ensures that all local, national, and regional — or Kerry EMEA — compliance requirements are consistently met and maintained. This is a full‑time, on-site role based at Kerry Wittstock (Heiligengrabe), Germany, with standard Monday to Friday hours 08:00–16:30.
What You'll Do
- Provide guidance and direction to the engineering department and apply technical expertise to resolve issues, implement modifications, and support NPI needs to maintain high-quality output.
- Oversee site engineering activities including capital planning, project identification, process optimisation, energy management, and maintenance delivery; ensure a comprehensive preventative maintenance programme is in place and completed on time and within budget.
- Develop and manage the site engineering budget, monitor KPI targets, and review plant/equipment criticality to adjust engineering strategies for efficient operations.
- Ensure QSHE and compliance policies are applied across the engineering function and that equipment and processes operate within safe design limits; oversee compliance with local, national, and regional requirements.
- Oversee spare-parts policy to maintain optimal stock levels and provide direction to the engineering team; deliver training and development as needed.
- Drive a positive onboarding experience, recruit diverse talent, conduct performance and development discussions, and build high‑performing teams aligned with Kerry’s values.
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Process, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related process-based engineering discipline; a few years’ experience in a large-scale process industry (food sector desirable).
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills; strong team-guidance and employee-engagement capabilities; ability to apply engineering methods practically and with solid business insight.
- Experience in team development; ability to work effectively with manufacturing functions; very good English and German (spoken and written).
- Technical knowledge in automation and process-control technologies (including food industry applications); asset-care methods; energy-management methods and frameworks; process-engineering techniques; project-management methods; procurement and budget management; regulatory and food-safety compliance; and industrial services and utilities including compressed air.
- Skills in team development, negotiation and change-management, strong organisational skills, excellent verbal and written communication, and demonstrated ability to coach and develop team members.
