About this role
Opportunity Overview
As the Engineering Manager – High-Speed Digital & Optical Solutions, you will serve as the technical and people leader for High-Speed Digital, Optical Communications, Silicon Photonics, and advanced AI data center physical-layer technologies. You will lead a multidisciplinary engineering team and act as a primary technical interface for strategic customers throughout the solution lifecycle, from technology evaluation and architectural planning through deployment and production ramp. You will partner across customer, R&D, product management, sales, validation, and manufacturing organizations to define innovative measurement strategies that improve productivity, reduce development risk, and accelerate time-to-market.
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for applications, validation, characterization, and solution development while setting technical direction, priorities, and resource plans.
- Develop advanced validation and characterization solutions for optical transceivers from 400G through 1.6T and beyond, Silicon Photonics, CPO and NPO, AI accelerator interconnects, Ethernet, InfiniBand, DDR5, DDR6, HBM, and CXL.
- Collaborate with strategic customers, architects, R&D leaders, validation engineers, and manufacturing teams to understand requirements and resolve complex technical challenges from evaluation through production ramp.
- Build reusable measurement methodologies and integrated workflows for signal integrity, power integrity, channel characterization, jitter, eye-diagram analysis, BER validation, compliance testing, automation, and data analytics.
- Support sales engagements, proof-of-concept evaluations, competitive benchmarking, demonstrations, and strategic design wins that expand Teradyne’s footprint within key accounts.
- Partner with product management and R&D to translate customer requirements and market trends into product-roadmap input, beta validation, and feature-prioritization feedback.
- Mentor team members, support hiring and onboarding, strengthen technical capabilities, and foster an inclusive culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure Teradyne maintains industry leadership by monitoring emerging standards, representing the company at technical forums and customer events, and developing application notes, articles, webinars, and conference presentations.
