  • Transmission architecture; design and manage metro and long-haul optical networks, including DWDM, OTN, SDH where applicable, dark fibre, leased capacity and protected transmission paths.

  • Internet, peering & interconnection: manage upstream transit, IX peering, private interconnection, content connectivity and carrier relationships to optimize cost, latency, resilience and customer experience.

  • Capacity planning: forecast IP traffic, backbone utilization, wavelengths, ports and international bandwidth, ensuring upgrades are completed ahead of congestion.

  • Network deployment: oversee design, procurement, staging, installation, configuration, integration, testing, commissioning and acceptance of IP and transmission infrastructure.

  • High availability & resilience: implement redundancy, route diversity, protection mechanisms, failover designs and disaster recovery capabilities across critical paths and nodes.

  • Operational performance: ensure 24/7 monitoring and performance management with effective thresholds, dashboards, alarms and escalation procedures.

  • Incident & problem management: lead major incident response, fault isolation and restoration, root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions.

  • Service provisioning: ensure residential, enterprise, wholesale and internal services are provisioned accurately and in line with bandwidth, routing, QoS, security and resilience requirements.

  • Enterprise solution support: support Presales and Commercial teams with DIA, IP transit, L2/L3 VPN, SD-WAN underlay, cloud connectivity and protected link designs.

  • Network security: implement routing security, DDoS protection, secure management, configuration hardening, logging, access controls and vulnerability remediation with cybersecurity teams.
