Job title: Engineering Instructor - Part-time (Pool)
About the Role COTC invites applications for part-time Engineering Instructor roles within Engineering Technology. These positions are placed in an applicant pool and reviewed as opportunities arise; if selected, you will be contacted directly. All applicants must reside in Ohio.
What You'll Do
- Deliver high-quality instruction aligned with course objectives and institutional standards.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, assignments, and assessments; utilize diverse instructional strategies, including technology-enabled learning.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback and maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and assessments per college policy.
- Offer academic advisement and be available for office hours or virtual support; serve as an academic resource for students.
- Promote an inclusive, respectful classroom culture; model professional conduct and uphold academic integrity.
- Collaborate with the Engineering Technology team and contribute to curriculum development as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Must reside in Ohio. Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in manufacturing engineering, electromechanical engineering, electronic engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a closely related field; OR a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline; OR an associate degree with relevant work experience, professional licensure/certifications, or demonstrated competencies in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to establish positive working relationships with students, colleagues, and staff.
- Willingness to utilize various instructional methods, including email and online learning management systems; commitment to student success and alignment with COTC's mission, values, and objectives.
- Successful completion of a background check is required.
- For Advanced Manufacturing Technology courses: working knowledge of manual and CNC machinery, precision assembly, and multi-craft maintenance; prior experience in manufacturing.
Nice to Have
- A master's degree from a regionally accredited institution in an engineering-related field or education.
- Previous teaching experience, curriculum development, and assessment experience.
