How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
The Interiors Engineering department implements new passenger cabins and reconfigures existing cabins for Delta's aircraft fleet through the development and deployment of engineering solutions. The department supports the reconfiguration of Delta's cabins as an effort to improve our passengers' overall experience as well as to align with Delta Corporate Strategy. Within Interiors Engineering, the department is comprised of two teams: Cabin Avionics and Cabin Design. Interiors Engineering is currently seeking a Project Engineer to support the Cabin Design team.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, aircraft OEMs, component suppliers, and maintenance repair organizations, to support the design and development of cabin reconfigurations, new product development, and/or new aircraft specifications.
- Define scope of work for development projects, including equipment, tooling and labor requirements
- Establish and maintain schedules that achieve defined objectives, including breakdown of tasks and associated resources from conceptualization to industrialization
- Collaborate with Delta's SMEs and ODA to develop substantiation and regulatory compliance plans
- Organize and/or prepare all relevant reports, drawings, and engineering authorizations for assigned projects
- Define scope for cabin related designs, integrations, installations, and certifications of cabin components and systems for Delta’s aircraft fleet.
- Collect information, organize documents, and participate in design review meetings to develop Engineering Authorizations for prior-to-service or cabin retrofit projects. Provide onsite prototype and production support for aircraft modifications or prior-to-service visits.
- Coordinates projects with internal and external organizations, including various commodity suppliers. Develop strong internal customer relationships and maintain high level of customer focus.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
- Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
- Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
- Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
- Previous airline, military, OEM or MRO experience with commercial aircraft is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work well in cross-divisional teams.
- Must be willing to travel as required
- A High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Basic Computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Project management experience; strong relationship management skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; multi-tasking abilities; proven results-orientation; and strong analytical, organizational and time management skills
- Strong leadership attributes, with the ability to influence and gain support via mutual respect

- Demonstrates that privacy is a priority when handling personal data.
- Familiarity with CFR’s and DOT regulations pertaining to aircraft cabin certification
- Familiarity with use of Aircraft Technical Manuals (AMM, CMM, IPCs, WDMs, etc) is desired
- Familiarity with airline operations and support system is desired
- Familiarity with application of Safety Risk Management in technical applications is desired.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
- A Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Material Science Engineering from an accredited institution or 5 years of relevant experience.
- 2 years industry experience credited for a Master's degree, in the listed disciplines
- 3 years industry experience credited for a PHD in the listed disciplines
- Familiarity with airline flight operations and support systems, 14 CFR 121 and 14 CFR 145 repair station regulations
