About the Role The Risk Technology team at Balyasny Asset Management builds systems to support risk measurement, risk reporting, risk guidelines monitoring, and risk research for teams across Balyasny. The RiskTech Engineer will work with the Risk Research and Management teams to transform research initiatives into high performance risk systems. The engineer will take responsibility for the overall design of the Python-based solutions, including the design and development of interfaces and core utilities to allow users to interact in various ways with risk information. The engineer will be responsible for deploying services based on these interfaces to a cloud-based architecture. What You'll Do
- Take responsibility for the overall design of Python-based risk solutions, including interfaces and core utilities to allow users to interact with risk information.
- Design and develop interfaces, deploy services to cloud-based architecture, and collaborate with Risk Research and Management teams.
- Transform research initiatives into high-performance risk systems and contribute to next-generation risk infrastructure.
- Work with risk team to gain exposure to the latest risk research and develop expertise in fixed income markets.
- Be a self-starter, creative thinker, and strong team player in a fast-paced environment. What We're Looking For
- 7+ years software development experience in financial services, preferably in fixed income asset management
- Deep expertise in developing production-quality, scalable applications in Python/C#
- Expertise in working with large-scale data sets, including storage, transmission, and transformation
- Strong understanding of SQL and database technologies
- Self-starter who can work independently and drive a project from inception through delivery
- Degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or closely related field
- Experience working with time series data sets is a significant plus
- Experience with cloud-based technologies such as S3, Kubernetes, Docker Nice to Have
- Experience with time series data sets (significant plus) Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: USD 175,000 - 225,000 per year
