Job title: Engineer – Product Engineering Railways
Key Purpose of the Job To carry out all activities required for the development of TBU and related components as part of SKF's product engineering Railways portfolio, delivering results through personal effectiveness, cross-functional collaboration and customer-focused solutions.
Profile of the Job Holder
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering; good verbal and written communication; casting background; Bengaluru location.
- 5-8 years of relevant experience, preferably in the Railway domain; ability to work as an individual contributor; proactive, self-motivated; strong teamwork and customer focus.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities; ability to handle ambiguity; capable of decisive action with limited information; strong relationship management and empathy.
Key Skill & Knowledge Profile
- Expertise in Design and Development (5-8 years); ability to design and develop components and assemblies considering application requirements.
- Knowledge of manufacturing process methodology; form, fit & functions; experience in Metrology & Metallurgical activities; knowledge of measurement principles; material behavior properties; DFMEA; understanding of manufacturing process capability.
- GD&T / GPS; basic FEA; knowledge of design standards (ASME, DIN); tolerance stack-up analysis (2D); ECM.
- Proficiency in Creo (2-3 years) for 3D modeling; advanced modeling, assembly, detailing; templates, Part & Assembly detailing; Parametric BOM; relation management; resolving failures.
- Knowledge of Windchill or other PLM (2-3 years); CAD document association with product structure; lifecycle states and workflows; attribute descriptions; basic data management.
- Knowledge of materials, heat treatment & finishing; material properties; coatings; and their effects.
- Basic familiarity with Project Management and its value to business processes.
- Basic knowledge of FEA; Design Automation (Pro-Toolkit).
