Job title: Engineer Manager - Capital Markets Trading Platform
About the Role We are seeking an Engineering Manager with deep Capital Markets trading and risk platform experience to lead the design, support, development, and delivery of strategic initiatives in a global Capital Markets environment. This hands-on technical leader will drive architecture, engineering standards, production support, and stakeholder engagement to ensure high-quality delivery across Front Office, Middle Office, and Back Office applications.
What You'll Do
- Lead and manage a team of application support engineers and technical specialists supporting Capital Markets platforms.
- Drive end-to-end delivery of platform enhancements, production support, upgrades, integrations, and transformation initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance across trading and risk management platforms.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to define and deliver business solutions.
- Oversee application design, code reviews, development best practices, support processes, and quality standards.
- Manage project planning, resource allocation, risk management, and delivery timelines.
- Ensure production stability through proactive monitoring, incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvement.
- Manage End-of-Day (EOD) processing, scheduling, batch execution, and operational readiness using enterprise scheduling tools such as Control-M and AutoSys.
- Support multiple Capital Markets applications across Rates, Credit, Market Data, Limits, and related platforms.
- Mentor team members and foster technical growth, collaboration, and innovation.
- Work closely with global teams across multiple regions and time zones.
- Drive Agile delivery practices and contribute to strategic technology roadmaps.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in Capital Markets technology with strong experience supporting, developing, or managing enterprise trading and risk platforms.
- Strong hands-on experience with Calypso, Murex, or other enterprise trading/risk platforms (Calypso preferred but not mandatory).
- Strong Java development skills with experience in enterprise application development.
- Strong SQL skills with experience in Oracle or similar relational databases.
- Proven experience in Production/Application Support within Capital Markets environments.
- Hands-on experience managing End-of-Day (EOD) processing and batch support activities.
- Experience with enterprise scheduling tools such as Control-M and/or AutoSys.
- Strong experience in Incident Management, Problem Management, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Production Stability.
- Experience working across Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office, Risk, and Trade Processing functions.
- Good understanding of Fixed Income, FX, Derivatives, Money Markets, or other Capital Markets products.
- Proven experience leading technical teams and managing engineering delivery.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making abilities.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with Calypso platform configuration, customization, upgrades, or integrations.
- Experience supporting multiple enterprise Capital Markets platforms such as Market Data, Limits, Risk, or Trade Processing applications.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms and modern engineering practices.
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment processes.
- Experience with performance tuning and database optimization.
- Exposure to regulatory reporting and risk management platforms.
- Prior experience managing globally distributed engineering teams.
- Knowledge of enterprise integration technologies and messaging frameworks.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and Service Management best practices.
