Job title: Engineer-in-Training (EIT)

About the Role Gain valuable engineering experience through BC Hydro's Engineers-in-Training (EIT) program. BC Hydro is the province's largest employer of Professional Engineers and Engineers-in-Training, offering opportunities to work on projects that deliver electricity to homes and businesses. The program helps graduates develop toward the Professional Engineering designation while collaborating with skilled teams.

What You'll Do

  • Complete up to three six-month rotations across the province (e.g., Lower Mainland, Revelstoke, Hudson's Hope, Vancouver Island) to gain broad engineering experience.
  • Participate in on-the-job experiences, relationship building, and training to develop toward your Professional Engineering designation.
  • Contribute to projects that support delivering electricity to BC residents and businesses and work with bright, knowledgeable teams.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil).
  • Less than two years of engineering work-related experience in Canada (excluding co-op).
  • Eligibility to register as an Engineer-in-Training with the Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (EGBC).
  • Demonstrated alignment with BC Hydro's values: safety, customer focus, teamwork, integrity, respect, and forward thinking.
  • Demonstrated technical capability and leadership potential.
