About the Role PacifiCorp is seeking customer-centric candidates to provide boiler, performance, and general mechanical engineering support for its generation and other utility assets. The role covers daily support, engineering studies, and project management for capital and O&M work. Positions are available at multiple levels (Engineer I, Engineer II, Senior Engineer) and applicants will be considered for the level that best matches their education and experience. What You'll Do
- Act as the day-to-day mechanical engineer and project manager for both capital and O&M funded projects
- Analyze system design, programming, and modification; troubleshoot and maintain plant compliance with industry best practices
- Develop limited-scope studies and prepare data for cost estimates; run equipment tests and install/inspect new equipment
- Conduct site inspections and ensure adherence to engineering standards; serve as the plant's Certified Weld Inspector (CWI)
- Provide environmental support for plant systems (scrubbers, precipitators) and manage capital budgets
- For Engineer II: design, develop, modify, and evaluate systems; guide associate engineers and technicians; manage outside engineering services
- For Senior Engineer: act as lead/expert, train and mentor others, maintain project timelines and budgets What We're Looking For
- Engineer I: Bachelor's degree in engineering; project management and leadership skills; basic knowledge of engineering principles; familiarity with applicable laws and regulations; strong communication and PC/tool skills
- Engineer II: minimum of two+ years related engineering experience; knowledge of NEC and relevant codes; ability to perform under pressure; ability to provide timely assessments with limited information
- Senior Engineer: minimum of five+ years in industrial power systems or related field; strong project management and leadership abilities; ability to lead and mentor staff Nice to Have
- Engineer I: engineering internship or experience specific to the discipline; internship with an electrical utility
