About the Role The mission is to provide high-quality nursing care in the Surgical Block of Hospital Vithas Barcelona Esplugues de Llobregat. The role focuses on ensuring proper reception, preparation, care and recovery of patients undergoing surgical intervention, and guaranteeing stock of medications and materials for the unit.

What You'll Do

• Receive the patient and prepare them for surgical, diagnostic or therapeutic techniques as required.
• Manage the nurse-patient relationship to address anxiety or stress.
• Identify and ensure the processing of tissue and/or fluid samples for the Laboratory; document in the nursing record the sample processing, tests orders and receipt of results (not the values).
• Administer prescribed or protocolised pharmacological treatments and carry out nursing-therapeutic procedures prescribed by the physician or protocolised; record procedures performed, results and any relevant incidents in the nursing register.
• Supervise recovery and provide appropriate care for patients immediately post-intervention; monitor bleeding and response to medications and therapies.
• Alert the appropriate physician in case of significantly negative changes in the patient’s condition.
• Maintain contact with the patient’s family to inform about recovery status.
• Check expiry dates of medicines and ensure stock; conserve stock of materials and supplies; replenish dressings and surgical materials.
• Support in complex situations and collaborate with anaesthetic techniques; perform urgent procedures when required as directed by the Surgical Block Supervisor.

What We're Looking For

• Formación Específica Técnica: Punción de vías endovenosas, cuidado de enfermos críticos e instrumentación quirúrgica.
• Principales conocimientos técnicos: Quirófano y reanimación quirúrgica (RCP, Electrocardiograma básica, medidas de asepsia, técnicas de instrumentación, manejo de monitores, manejo de aparataje quirúrgico, Informática Básica).
• Punción vía endovenosa.
• Intolerancia o alergia a medicamentos.
• Toma de constantes.
• Planificación de cuidados en área quirúrgica, manejo de aparataje, anestesia, instrumentación.
