Energy Practice Specialist (Sourcing & Procurement)

About this role

About the Role This role sits in Accenture's Energy Center of Excellence within Sourcing & Procurement. You will help clients reduce energy spend and develop procurement strategies, focusing on natural gas pricing proposals through the RFP process, supplier management, market analytics, and negotiations. What You'll Do

  • Initiate and manage pricing requests to suppliers with defined deadlines and required deliverables.
  • Create and foster supplier relationships, maintaining an active database of available suppliers across the U.S. and Canada.
  • Monitor energy market fundamentals, including supply/demand balances, weather and storage impacts, and infrastructure constraints to inform procurement strategy.
  • Demonstrate solid understanding of energy infrastructure including capacity, transmission, and distribution, and how each affects a client’s procurement strategy.
  • Distinguish between energy procurement pricing methods including spot, fixed, and index-related products; interpret market pricing, volatility, and forward curves across regional and national markets.
  • Create high-quality procurement recommendations for clients including market intelligence, strategy and risk management.
  • Manage contract documents, terms & conditions, and lock confirmations.
  • Ensure deals are properly recorded and documented within internal systems.
  • Maintain collaborative working relationships with the Client Management and Market Intelligence teams to deliver best-in-class results to our energy clients. What We're Looking For
  • Minimum of 2.5 years of experience working in the Energy industry, preferably with natural gas.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If associate degree, must have a minimum of 6 years’ work experience)
  • Experience supporting client management and/or procurement activities.
  • Knowledge of regional power and natural gas markets (e.g., ERCOT, PJM, MISO, CAISO, ISO-NE, NYMEX). Nice to Have
  • You have the proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
  • You excel in building and developing relationships, overseeing complex programs, and demonstrating leadership.
  • Comfortable in a performance-driven environment and possess a strong capacity for innovation and process improvement.
  • Prior experience in driving insights using visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx) and analytics tools (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics).
  • Strong analytical and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, including the ability to develop and interpret complex models and ad-hoc reports.
  • Ability to effectively take on multiple projects, tasks, and initiatives simultaneously; deadline driven.
  • Demonstrated abilities in problem solving and independent decision-making. Compensation & Benefits
