Job title: Endoscopy Technician II
About the Role The Endoscopy Technician II supports physicians in performing basic and advanced endoscopic procedures and reprocesses procedural scopes. This role ensures equipment readiness, patient safety, and adherence to infection control policies.
What You'll Do
- Assist physicians with basic endoscopic procedures and advanced/complex procedures requiring specialized training
- Reprocess procedural scopes, bedside and manual cleaning, high-level disinfection, and maintenance of endoscopy equipment
- Review procedures, procure supplies, and anticipate physician needs during cases
- Identify surgical specimens and prepare them for pathology, cytology, and microbiology; transfer to the nurse
- Collect and prepare pathology specimens (touch preparations and cell blocks) for advanced cases
- Maintain aseptic technique and orderly procedure tables and endoscopy travel carts
- Educate patients by explaining your role and procedures
- Ensure compliance with Code of Conduct and infection control policies
- Maintain knowledge of GI procedures and endoscopy equipment safety
What We're Looking For
- Education: Required high school diploma, GED or higher; Preferred completion of Advanced EUS/ERCP Training, SGNA Associates Program and Advance Program Modules
- Licensure/Certification: American Heart Association BLS required
- Experience: Two years of experience as Endoscopy Technician or similar role; Endoscopy Technician experience preferred
Nice to Have
- Advanced GI training in EUS/ERCP and SGNA program participation
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $22.83 - $34.69 per hour
