About the Department
DEFINITION:
- This is a 12-month EMS faculty position. Faculty provide knowledge in his/her field of expertise and to promote various student-centered learning activities that will stimulate an interest in critical thinking and a desire for life-long learning. Various teaching strategies, learning styles and delivery methods including new technology systems will be utilized to reach this goal. Faculty are responsible for the planning, programming, instruction and evaluation of the both curriculum and continuing education program offerings. Faculty, whether designated as curriculum or continuing education (CE/EWD), may be assigned instructional hours in either curriculum or continuing education courses as necessary to meet minimum workload requirements and institutional needs.

ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS STATEMENTS:
This position requires faculty to have a presence on campus primarily focusing on teaching and learning, academic excellence, and student success. The primary responsibilities of faculty include:
Essential Functions:
- Designing and implementing learning strategies for students both in the curriculum and continuing education enrolled in the CFCC EMS program;
- Delivering instructional materials provided by the NC Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS);
- Plan, direct, and participate in the instruction for the EMSProgram;
- Develop materials, tests, and practical exercises that supplement instruction and ensure student retain knowledge;
- Enhance learning and critique of program goals through communication and discussion;
- Analyze programmatic problems; identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of student success and program goal attainment;
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with peers and program partnerships;
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of course delivery methods and procedures; assess and monitor workload, administrative and support systems, and internal reporting relationships; identify opportunities for improvement and review with the program director
- Developing and abide by the course syllabi;
- Maintaining instructional and attendance records;
- Evaluating technical standards of practice delivered by students;
Other Important Functions:
- Participate in the academic program efforts to recruit
