Whether it’s a Friday-night feast, a post-gym poke bowl, or grabbing some groceries, our tech platform connects tens of millions of customers with hundreds of thousands of restaurant, grocery and convenience partners across the globe.
About this role As our Employee Relations Manager, you will lead and empower our ER operations across the UK and Canada within the People Services team. In this role, you will lead with clear goals, balancing regional legislative compliance with our global ER strategy across five key pillars: Performance, Disciplinary, Grievances, Org Design Support, and Absence Management.
Sitting at the heart of our People function, you will care for our teams and workplace culture by triaging employment tribunal claims, managing complex escalations, and driving proactive alignment. Working collaboratively with senior leaders and HR business partners, you will deliver data-driven insights that continuously raise the bar and build positive workplace relationships.
These are some of the key components to the position:
- Lead ER operations across the UK and Canada, ensuring local compliance while supporting global alignment.
- Hold strategic ownership for one designated ER pillar, driving consistency and excellence linked to business goals.
- Manage and triage UK employment tribunal claims and legal matters, partnering with external counsel when required.
- Provide expert guidance and escalation support on complex disciplinary, grievance, and Speak Up cases.
- Analyze ER case data and trends to deliver actionable recommendations and drive continuous improvement.
- Coach, mentor, and develop your team, supporting career growth through our ER framework.
- Facilitate ER representation during restructures, ensuring clear roles, consistent processes, and employee support.
- Collaborate with global HR stakeholders, HRBPs, and legal teams to align strategies and deliver impact.
- Leverage HR data tools and case management platforms like Workday and Jira Service Management effectively.
- Explore and implement innovative, smart ways of working to optimize team productivity and clarity.
What will you bring to the team?
- Demonstrated background in Employee Relations or HR Business Partnering within matrixed, global organizations.
- Strong practical knowledge of UK Employment Legislation, tribunal processes, and compliance frameworks.
- CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent professional experience); CIPD Level 7 is a plus.
- Proven team leadership and coaching skills, helping team members succeed and develop.
- Deep understanding of ER policies, complex investigations, and conflict resolution (including Speak Up cases).
- Awareness of (or eagerness to quickly learn) Canadian employment law frameworks.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills to influence across all organizational levels.
- Passion for using data and metrics to identify opportunities, solve problems, and make a lasting impact.
- Commitment to our values—Lead, Deliver, Care—and driving a collaborative, customer-centric culture.
- Ability to travel internationally (approx. 10–15% of the time) to support regional teams.
