About the Role Join Perkins Coie as an Emerging Companies & Venture Capital (ECVC) associate at a midlevel to senior level. Based in Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Palo Alto, you will support innovative companies and venture funds through formation, financing, and M&A matters. This role offers exposure to sophisticated matters at a national level within a collaborative, client-focused environment.
What You'll Do
- Represent and advise startups and growth companies and venture funds through formation, financing, and M&A transactions.
- Collaborate with partners and senior associates across multiple offices (LA, SF, Palo Alto) on national matters.
- Draft, negotiate, and review transactional documents; support deal execution; conduct due diligence; manage internal and external client relationships.
- Provide timely and clear communications with clients; build enduring relationships.
What We're Looking For
- At least four years of experience in ECVC, venture capital, or related corporate practice; preferably at a top law firm.
- Stellar academic credentials; strong written and verbal communication; quantitative and Excel skills.
- Ability to manage internal and external client and counsel relationships; strong teamwork and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Experience across business formation, financing transactions, and M&A; exposure to technology startups and growth companies; ability to operate across offices.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a national/multi-office firm; cross-office collaboration.
- Familiarity with the lifecycle of startups and venture funds.
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation range: $310,000 to $420,000 annually.
