Emergency Medicine Physician (Orthopedic Hospital)
Location: Wilmington, NC
Employment Type: W-2 full time & part time Compensation: Compensation: $230/hour for all shifts plus current productivity bonus of approximately $15-$20/hour (new structure of $30–$50/hour effective 1/1/2027)
Join an independent, physician-led emergency medicine group serving the greater Wilmington region. This opportunity is based at a community orthopedic hospital offering strong clinical support, advanced documentation technology, and an attractive coastal North Carolina lifestyle.
Position Snapshot
- Community emergency department with approximately 29,000 annual visits and 23 ED beds.
- Hospitalist, tele-neurology, tele-ICU, and tele-psychiatry support.
- Expected pace is approximately 1.9 patients per hour.
- Physician shifts: 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m., and 10:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m.; contracted at 120 hours.
- $10,000 relocation assistance and $6,000 annual CME allowance.
- Health insurance, HSA, 401(k) with 4% match, malpractice coverage, license/DEA expenses, credentialing fees, and local medical society dues covered.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or DO with completion of an accredited Emergency Medicine residency.
- ABEM board certified or board eligible; 2026 Emergency Medicine graduates are welcome.
- Active or obtainable North Carolina medical license and DEA registration.
- Current ACLS required; support is available to update an expired course before practice begins.
