Job title: Emergency Medical Technician/First Responder (PRN)
About the Role Cape Fox Concentric Methods is seeking Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)/First Responders (PRN) to provide on-site safety monitoring and immediate Basic Life Support (BLS) response during USPIS fitness exams. This is a PRN, on-site role with three-hour session blocks, focused on rapid assessment, first aid, and coordination with medical oversight.
What You'll Do
- Set up and dismantle testing environments at assigned locations to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Monitor applicant health status during testing and respond promptly to any medical incidents.
- Assess participants for signs of distress or injury and provide first aid and basic emergency care (e.g., CPR, bleeding control, splinting); request 911 on-site if needed and provide care until arrival.
- Maintain readiness and stock of the first aid kit.
- Document all medical incidents thoroughly and coordinate follow-up actions with the program's medical oversight team.
- Assist in implementing preventative safety measures and perform safety checks before and during testing.
What We're Looking For
- Current state EMT-B certification.
- 1–2 years of field experience responding to medical events in fitness, athletic, or occupational environments.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Knowledge of injury prevention, physical exertion risks, and relevant treatment protocols.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and demonstrate strong decision-making.
- Must have authorization to work in the United States (per IRCA).
- Travel availability: 0–10% travel as required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay: $35.87 per hour for up to 40 hours per week (base $30.78 + $5.09 Health & Welfare per hour per SCLS).
