Job title: Emergency Medical Technician/First Responder (PRN)
About the Role Cape Fox Concentric Methods is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) / First Responder (PRN) to provide on-site safety monitoring and immediate Basic Life Support (BLS) response during USPIS fitness exams. This role supports federal testing events by delivering rapid medical assessment and care to applicants in a controlled environment.
What You'll Do
- Set Up and Break Down testing environments at assigned locations to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Monitor applicant health status during testing activities and respond promptly to any medical incidents.
- Provide medical care including first aid, CPR, bleeding control, splinting; request 911 onsite if needed and provide care until arrival.
- Maintain readiness of the first aid kit with stocked supplies.
- Document all medical incidents thoroughly and coordinate follow-up actions with the program's medical oversight team.
- Assist in implementing preventative safety measures and conduct safety checks before and during testing.
- Work in three-hour blocks; sessions are scheduled in three-hour blocks (EMT typically works three hours per event) and travel requirements of 0-10%.
What We're Looking For
- Current state EMT-B certification.
- 1–2 years of field experience responding to medical events in fitness, athletic, or occupational environments.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong knowledge of injury prevention, physical exertion risks, and relevant treatment protocols.
- Ability to maintain a calm demeanor and demonstrate strong decision-making under pressure.
- Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
Compensation & Benefits
- Total hourly pay: $35.82 per hour (up to 40 hours per week), consisting of base $30.78/hr plus $5.04/hr Health & Welfare as required by SCLS regulations.
