Job title: Emergency Medical Technician/First Responder (PRN)
About the Role Cape Fox Concentric Methods is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician/First Responder (PRN) to provide on-site safety monitoring and immediate BLS response during USPIS Physical Fitness Exams at client locations.
What You'll Do
- Set Up and Break Down testing environments at assigned locations to ensure a safe and efficient operation.
- Health Monitoring: Monitor applicant health status during testing activities and respond promptly to any medical incidents.
- Medical Care: Assess and monitor participants for signs of distress or injury, provide first aid and basic emergency care (CPR, bleeding control, splinting); request 911 onsite support if needed and provide care until arrival.
- First Aid Kit Maintenance: Regularly check and maintain the readiness of the first aid kit, ensuring supplies are stocked and up to date.
- Incident Documentation: Document all medical incidents thoroughly and coordinate follow-up actions with the program's medical oversight team.
- Safety Implementation: Assist in implementing preventative measures and conducting safety checks before and during testing to minimize risks and enhance applicant safety.
- Scheduling/Travel: Sessions are three-hour blocks; EMT typically works three hours per event. Travel 0-10%.
What We're Looking For
- Certification: Current state EMT-B certification.
- Experience: 1–2 years of field experience responding to medical events in fitness, athletic, or occupational environments.
- BLS Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of injury prevention, physical exertion risks, and relevant treatment protocols.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to maintain a calm demeanor and demonstrate strong decision-making under pressure.
- Work Authorization: Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $35.82 per hour for up to 40 hours per week (base $30.78 + $5.04 Health & Welfare).
- Travel/Hours: Up to 40 hours per week as required by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCLS).
