Job title: Emergency Medical Technician/First Responder (PRN)
About the Role Cape Fox Concentric Methods is seeking EMT/First Responders (PRN) to provide on-site safety monitoring and immediate BLS response during USPIS Physical Fitness Exams. The role supports the United States Postal Inspection Service by ensuring medical readiness and prompt care at testing sites.
What You'll Do
- Set up and break down testing environments at assigned locations to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Monitor applicant health status during testing activities, responding promptly to any medical incidents that arise.
- Provide first aid and basic emergency care (e.g., CPR, bleeding control, splinting); request 911 on-site support if needed and provide care until arrival.
- Regularly check and maintain the readiness of the first aid kit, ensuring all supplies are stocked and up to date.
- Document all medical incidents thoroughly and coordinate follow-up actions with the program's medical oversight team to ensure comprehensive care and reporting.
- Assist in implementing preventative measures and conducting safety checks before and during testing to minimize risks and enhance applicant safety.
- Sessions are scheduled in three-hour blocks; the EMT typically works three hours per event. Travel is 0–10%.
What We're Looking For
- Current state EMT-B certification.
- 1–2 years of field experience responding to medical events in fitness, athletic, or occupational environments.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong knowledge of injury prevention, physical exertion risks, and relevant treatment protocols.
- Ability to maintain a calm demeanor and demonstrate strong decision-making skills under pressure.
- Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay: $35.87 per hour up to 40 hours per week (base rate $30.78 + $5.09 Health & Welfare per hour). This is a non-exempt position.
