Job title: Emergency Medical Technician/First Responder (PRN)
About the Role EMT/First Responder (PRN) to provide on-site safety monitoring and immediate Basic Life Support (BLS) response during USPIS fitness exams at testing sites.
What You'll Do
- Set up and dismantle testing environments at assigned locations to ensure safe operation.
- Monitor applicant health and respond promptly to medical incidents during testing.
- Provide first aid and basic emergency care (CPR, bleeding control, splinting); request 911 support as needed and provide care until arrival.
- Regularly inspect and maintain readiness of the first aid kit.
- Document medical incidents thoroughly and coordinate follow-up with the program’s medical oversight team to ensure comprehensive care and reporting.
- Assist in implementing safety checks and preventative measures before and during testing to minimize risks and enhance applicant safety.
- Sessions are three-hour blocks; EMT typically works three hours per event.
What We're Looking For
- Current state EMT-B certification.
- 1–2 years of field experience responding to medical events in fitness, athletic, or occupational environments.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong knowledge of injury prevention, physical exertion risks, and relevant treatment protocols.
- Ability to maintain a calm demeanor and demonstrate strong decision-making skills under pressure.
- Authorization to work in the United States (per Immigration Reform Act of 1986).
- Travel availability: 0–10%.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay: $35.87 per hour for up to 40 hours per week; comprised of a base rate of $30.78 plus $5.09 per hour Health & Welfare (H&W) for up to 40 hours per week as required by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCLS) regulations.
