About the Role Cape Fox Concentric Methods is seeking Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)/First Responders (PRN) to provide on-site safety monitoring and immediate BLS response during USPS Physical Fitness Exams. This role requires readiness to assess participants, provide first aid, and coordinate with medical oversight to ensure safe testing environments.

What You'll Do

  • Set Up and Break Down: Prepare and dismantle testing environments to ensure a safe and efficient operation.
  • Health Monitoring: Monitor applicant health during testing; respond to medical incidents.
  • Medical Care: Assess and monitor participants; provide first aid and basic emergency care (CPR, bleeding control, splinting); request 911 on-site if needed; provide care until arrival.
  • First Aid Kit Maintenance: Regularly check and maintain the readiness of the first aid kit, ensuring all supplies are stocked and up to date.
  • Incident Documentation: Document all medical incidents thoroughly and coordinate follow-up actions with the program’s medical oversight team to ensure comprehensive care and reporting.
  • Safety Implementation: Assist in implementing preventative measures and conducting safety checks before and during testing to minimize risks and enhance applicant safety.
  • Sessions are scheduled in three-hour blocks with the EMT typically working three hours per event.

What We're Looking For

  • Current state EMT-B certification; National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • 1–2 years of field experience responding to medical events in fitness, athletic, or occupational environments.
  • Strong knowledge of injury prevention, physical exertion risks, and relevant treatment protocols.
  • Ability to maintain a calm demeanor and demonstrate strong decision-making skills under pressure.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States.

Nice to Have

  • National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NR EMT) preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Total hourly pay of $35.87 per hour for up to 40 hours per week; composed of base $30.78 plus Health & Welfare (H&W) per SCLS guidelines.
