About this role

EMEA Regional Procurement Lead

Innovative and committed to patients worldwide.

CSL is a global biotechnology leader driven by its promise to save lives. We develop and deliver innovative medicines that help people with serious and rare diseases around the world.

To strengthen our Enterprise Procurement & Supplier Management organization, we are looking for an experienced procurement professional to join us as

EMEA Regional Procurement Lead (100%) (m/f/d)

In this strategic role, you will serve as a key Procurement business partner to Commercial leadership across EMEA, with a particular focus on our significant DACH business. You will translate business priorities into effective sourcing and category strategies across Commercial and related indirect spend categories, helping CSL optimize value, strengthen supplier partnerships and manage risk across the region.

Working closely with senior stakeholders across Commercial, Marketing, Medical, Market Access, Finance and Legal, you will combine strong procurement expertise with a proactive and commercially minded approach. You will independently lead complex sourcing initiatives, identify opportunities across a diverse supplier landscape and contribute regional perspectives to CSL's global category strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted Procurement business partner to Commercial leadership across DACH and EMEA, proactively identifying sourcing opportunities and translating business priorities into effective procurement strategies.
  • Develop and execute regional category and sourcing strategies across Commercial and indirect spend, aligned with business priorities and global category roadmaps.
  • Lead complex end-to-end sourcing initiatives, including RFPs, supplier evaluation and selection, commercial negotiations and contract execution.
  • Analyze spend, market intelligence, supplier landscapes and business requirements to identify opportunities for cost optimization, value creation, innovation and demand management.
  • Build and manage strategic supplier relationships, driving performance, continuous improvement and appropriate governance while proactively addressing supplier and commercial risks.
  • Partner closely with stakeholders across Commercial, Marketing, Medical, Market Access, Finance, Legal and other functions, providing procurement expertise and market insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure sourcing and supplier activities comply with relevant procurement policies, governance requirements, contractual obligations and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute EMEA requirements and market insights to global category strategies and procurement initiatives, helping strengthen and continuously develop CSL's procurement capabilities across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Economics or a related discipline; an advanced degree or professional procurement qualification such as CIPS, ISM, CPSM or MCIPS is an advantage.

  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing or Category Management, ideally within a multinational and matrixed organization.

  • Strong experience in indirect and/or Commercial procurement categories, such as Marketing Services, Market Research, Market Access, Data & Analytics, Professional Services or comparable categories.

  • Experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or life sciences industry is strongly preferred; candidates from other highly regulated industries with deep and directly relevant Commercial/indirect procurement expertise will also be considered.

  • Demonstrated success in leading complex sourcing initiatives and commercial negotiations, combined with the ability to independently manage sourcing projects and deliver measurable business value.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering skills, with the confidence to engage, influence and advise senior business leaders across different functions, countries and cultures.

  • Strong strategic and commercial mindset with the ability to analyze data and market insights, identify opportunities and translate them into pragmatic sourcing solutions.

  • Ability to operate independently and proactively in a complex international environment while collaborating effectively across Procurement and the wider business.

  • Fluent English is required; German language skills are highly desirable.

  • About this position

  • As EMEA Regional Procurement Lead, you will join our Enterprise Procurement & Supplier Management organization and take on a highly visible role at the interface between Procurement and our Commercial business.

  • While your responsibilities span EMEA as a whole, the DACH region will be a particularly important focus. You will have the opportunity to further strengthen Procurement's strategic partnership with the business, identify opportunities across a diverse supplier landscape and help shape how CSL approaches Commercial and indirect sourcing across the region.

  • The role combines strategic category management, hands-on sourcing and senior stakeholder engagement. It is therefore particularly suited to an experienced procurement professional who enjoys being close to the business, proactively identifying opportunities and independently turning Commercial priorities into effective sourcing solutions.

  • Some travel is expected, primarily to engage with Commercial teams and other stakeholders across DACH and EMEA, with occasional broader international travel possible.

  • Interested in this opportunity? We look forward to receiving your application. Please submit your CV, employment references and degree certificates together as one file.
