Job title: EMEA Category Buyer for Packaging

About the Role The EMEA Packaging Category Buyer will manage regional tactical purchasing for packaging materials and services within ContiTech, coordinating with the Global Category Head and Regional Cluster Manager. The role aims to create added value for internal customers through commercial, logistical and process improvements, while strengthening partnerships with internal and external suppliers.

What You'll Do

• Drive all regional purchasing activities for NPM packaging materials and services in EMEA with Global Category Head and Regional Cluster Manager
• Lead negotiations with attention to commercial and operational aspects, ensuring compliance with applicable rules
• Identify and realize synergy potential where possible; ensure full coverage of business requirements in offers
• Drive contractual coverage and support operational improvements by negotiating commercial benefits
• Align purchasing strategy with internal customer needs; manage ordering via CTOS and SAP including complaints handling and communications
• Prepare and conduct tenders, compare offers, and negotiate contracts for complex procurement projects in collaboration with Global Category Head and Regional Cluster Manager
• Create Sourcing Decision Sheets, secure BPBoC and NDA signatures, collect financial and commercial records, identify and develop vendors
• Ensure agreements are created, approved, signed, and communicated to plants within the region
• Support special projects and monitor purchasing KPIs (savings, payment terms, automation rate)
• Collaborate with Global Business Service in Timisoara

What We're Looking For

• University degree (Diploma/Bachelor/Masters) preferred with relevant certifications; at least 3 years of professional experience preferred
• Strong analytical and conceptual competence; exceptional communication across cultures and functions
• Confident in SAP R/3 and SAP S/4 and MS Office; independent and responsible work style
• Advanced negotiation skills, assertiveness, and goal- and result-oriented mindset
• Fluent in English and Hungarian; German language skills are a plus
• Experience in project management
