Job title: Embedded Systems Engineer
About the Role The role focuses on developing embedded firmware for devices with microcontrollers and microcomputers, enabling data processing, control, and inter-device communication. ABSI provides services to help small to medium companies leverage embedded capabilities, including custom firmware development, device commissioning/decommissioning functionalities, protocol integration modules, and M2M data-exchange networks. The team specializes in embedded solutions for clean energy, home automation, smart grid systems, and machine-to-machine networks.
What You'll Do
- Develop custom firmware to control device functionality and data flow.
- Implement device commissioning/decommissioning functionalities.
- Create modules for integration with new protocols and build machine-to-machine networks.
- Design inter-device data exchange protocols and support M2M communications.
- Collaborate on embedded solutions in clean energy, home automation, and smart grid contexts.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in embedded programming with ARM, AVR, and System on Chip.
- Knowledge of Embedded Real Time Operating Systems.
- Familiarity with remote sensors and wireless communication protocols such as ZigBee, 1-wire, SPI, I2C, UART, RS-485, Bluetooth, and 802.11.
- Experience with building and integrating inter-device data exchange protocols and M2M networks.
- Ability to work across embedded hardware and software to deliver practical solutions.
Nice to Have
- Experience with ZigBee, Z-Wave, 6loWPAN, and Smart Energy Gateways (SEG).
- Background in clean energy, home automation, or smart grid projects.
