About this role
We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design and develop embedded firmware for wireless sensor devices integrated into Signify lighting luminaires. You will translate end-user requirements into software specifications, implement embedded lighting controllers per standards such as DALI and PWM, and integrate Zigbee/BLE for reliable data transfer to the IoT cloud. You will participate in hardware bring-up, validation, and troubleshooting, develop quick prototypes when necessary, and coach junior engineers to grow their skills.
What You'll Do
- Analyze and understand assigned requirements from an end user perspective and translate them into software requirements.
- Design and develop embedded firmware for wireless sensor devices integrated into lighting luminaires.
- Implement embedded lighting controllers according to standards such as DALI and PWM.
- Integrate wireless communication protocols to ensure reliable data transfer to the IoT cloud.
- Participate in hardware bring-up, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Implement key modules and develop quick working prototypes when necessary.
- Coach junior team members in software engineering aspects.
- Identify and resolve technical risks.
What We're Looking For
- Hands-on experience of 12+ years in embedded software development on MIPS/ARM devices.
- C programming is a must; C++ is preferred.
- Hands-on experience in embedded RTOS.
- Experience working with ARM Cortex based microcontrollers and SoCs.
- Knowledge of wireless protocols and relevant stacks.
- Working experience with Silicon Labs SoCs, Simplicity Studio and GSDK radio stack is a plus.
- Ability to work with hardware schematics, debugging tools, and lab instrumentation.
- Experience with IAR embedded workbench and compiler set is a plus.
- Experienced in unit testing using NUnit.
- Repository management experience using Git.
