Job title: Embedded Software Engineer
About the Role This position is for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer at Indra Space, focused on real-time embedded software for space or aeronautical applications. You will contribute to end-to-end satellite and aerospace software development and may be on-call for interventions.
What You'll Do
- Design and develop real-time embedded software systems for space or aeronautical platforms, in compliance with applicable software development standards.
- Implement and maintain software components using C and Python for embedded environments.
- Work with real-time operating systems such as RTEMS, VxWorks, or FreeRTOS on ARM Cortex, RISC-V, or PowerPC architectures.
- Perform software verification and validation activities, including test specification and execution using EGSE/SCOE test benches.
- Define and document software and system designs using UML and SysML methodologies.
- Apply software configuration management practices using Git or SVN.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams following waterfall, SCRUM, or agile development methodologies.
What We're Looking For
- Engineering degree with 3–5 years of professional experience in relevant areas.
- Proven experience in the design and development of real-time embedded software systems for the space or aeronautical industry.
- Excellent programming skills in C and Python.
- Solid theoretical knowledge of multitasking systems and real-time operating systems (RTEMS, VxWorks, FreeRTOS, or similar).
- Experience with embedded computer architectures such as ARM Cortex, RISC-V, or PowerPC.
- Experience in software verification and validation, including test definition and execution.
- Knowledge of software design and documentation methodologies (UML, SysML).
- Experience working with containers such as Docker or Podman.
- Experience or exposure to DevOps infrastructure and continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins).
- English level B2 (desirable).
- Availability for on-call duty and planned interventions.
