Job title: Embedded Software Engineer

About the Role As an Embedded Software Engineer at Dana, you will be an active member of the software development team. You will analyze, design, develop and test Autosar software components in line with ASPICE/ISO 26262 methodologies and standards, and collaborate with electronics and hardware teams to ensure designs support software requirements.

What You'll Do

  • Analyze, design, develop and test Autosar software components in alignment with ASPICE/ISO 26262
  • Work closely with electronics and hardware teams to ensure hardware can support software requirements
  • Create Software Requirements
  • Support Architecture design and development
  • Create Software Detailed Designs
  • Develop software code in C/C++ to implement the software design
  • Ensure code is compliant with MISRA and CERT C/C++ standards
  • Interact with software developed in MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow
  • Conduct unit tests to validate the software implementation
  • Support issue analysis and corrective action definitions
  • Take part in SW development lifecycle activities (SW FMEA, DFA, etc.)
  • Participate in task planning and reporting in an AGILE environment

What We're Looking For

  • Essential: Minimum five (5+) years of embedded software development experience
  • Essential: Strong knowledge of embedded C/C++ language
  • Essential: Knowledge of UML
  • Essential: Knowledge of Python
  • Essential: Expertise with RTOS/BSW and device driver development (Flash, ADC, EEPROM, LIN, CANFD, SPI)
  • Essential: Embedded software development for automotive electronic modules
  • Essential: Real-time embedded software for 32-bit multicore MCUs (Infineon Aurix TC3xx, TI TM570)
  • Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
  • Essential: Experience with SPI, CAN, CANFD, J1939, UDS, and XCP protocols
  • Essential: Experience with developing software in a formal V-cycle development process
  • Asset: Knowledge of ISO 26262
  • Asset: Knowledge of embedded systems testing with SIL, PIL
  • Asset: Knowledge/experience of motor control theory
  • Asset: Polarion
  • Asset: MATLAB/Simulink + Toolbox (Simulink Requirements, Simulink Tests)
  • Asset: Jira, Azure DevOps, Git, CMake, Artifactory
  • Asset: Polyspace
  • Asset: VectorCAST
  • Asset: LauterBach Debugger
  • Asset: Vector CANape, CANalyzer/CANoe, CANdela

  • Motor control theory knowledge (asset)
  • ISO 26262 awareness (asset)
  • SIL/PIL testing (asset)
  • Familiarity with Polarion and MBD workflows
  • Experience with VectorCAN/Canape toolchains
